Suspiscious

April 14, 2010 at 09:46 (General Stupidity, Politics)

Weird, but perhaps not surprising. I suspect that Obama has quite a lot to hide. He has been carefully groomed, a story constructed, and a mindset created – all of that takes a bit of behind the scenes type stuff.

See, this is why there are birthers. Off the record mystery trips alone, million in legal fees to avoid presenting a long form Hawaiian birth certificate. I mean if everything was on the up and up, why not just trot out the old long form? That would stop it in it’s tracks! I don’t know about the citizenship issue one way or the other, but I DO find it plausible that there may be info on there that conflicts with the official story. What that is, I don’t know for sure. It’s just suspicious.

The birthers are wondering though, especially given recent statements by the Kenyan government (those statements don’t seem to me to be very earth shattering, but whatever), and the longer and harder they fight, the millions more they spend trying to avoid the long form birth certificate, is to me just plain weird.

So, let’s talk this one out. The AP reports:

About two hours before reporters were supposed to be in position to leave with the president, Obama left the grounds of the White House. Members of the press were told he was attending one of his daughter’s soccer games in northwest Washington, D.C.

The White House press corps traditionally travels with the president anywhere he goes, inside and outside the country, to report on the president’s activities for the benefit of informing the public and for historical record.

After Obama left, a press aide hastily gathered members of the media who happened to be at the White House early or working on other matters. They rushed to a van and left the White House to catch up with the president.

Too late. By the time, the press van appeared to arrive at the president’s location, the press was told he was already departing. Time to go back to the White House.

Reporters and photographers didn’t have a chance to see him or his vehicle to verify his presence at any location.

Time also reported the time and location of the supposed game as at:

The president left the White House at approximately 9:20 to attend one of his daughter’s soccer games at 40th and Chesapeake NW. A pool was hastily called at around 9:35 and drove north at 9:43 to catch the president before the game ended. We didn’t make it. The President returned to the White House at 10:17. The pool returned at 10:30.

So that is the story. Except there are some problems with it. The first one is a biggie in that there were no scheduled soccer games for Sidwell Friends April 10 as evidenced here. The second is that the area reported that the game was played at appears to be one of high crime as documented here and here. Additionally, this is a pic of the field where he went to watch the game.

This just does not make sense. The President of the United States venturing out (was Secret Service even with him?) to a soccer game that didn’t exist in a high-crime area.

  1. Please adjust your tinfoil hat said,

This whole story about a non-existent soccer game is pure nonsense. The WH never said the soccer game was played at his kid’s school, or that it had any association with the school. And if you dig deeper than that one link, you’ll see that the school doesn’t even offer soccer in the spring to 6th graders. It is played in the fall.

So, could it be that some kids in DC play in a youth soccer league on weekends? BINGO! http://www.stoddert.com And do you need proof that this org. had scheduled games at Fort Reno on Saturday, April 10th? YOU’RE IN LUCK! Go to http://activenet15.active.com/dcdpr/ click on “Reserve” and then check out the schedule for Fort Reno.

Finally, the suggestion that Fort Reno is a “high crime” area is just woefully inaccurate. High real estate prices? yes. High crime? no. It is actually one of the more affluent areas of DC. There is a house listed for sale at nearly $1.4m just about one block from the soccer field. http://www.trulia.com/DC/Washington,1899,Tenleytown/

The only things that were “non-existent” were any amount of accurate facts in the original story. It really just shows how desperate some people are and how easily they can be whipped up into a frothy mess, when they have been given false information by the likes of Cat Corben at american thinker.
